Producer: Michele Chiarlo
Since 1956, Michele Chiarlo has been vinifying the essence of Piedmont, loving and developing the most incredible wine region in the world.
The integrity and perfection of the fruit. The study of sustainable practices and the patience of extended timeframes, never hurried. The style of Michele Chiarlo is expressed through the quest for balance, elegance, taste and complexity.
Wines which are 100% indigenous, obtained from Piedmont vineyards and vinified in purity – Nebbiolo, Barbera, Moscato, Cortese – without the assemblage of international varieties, a pure expression of the oenological wealth that only these lands know how to convey. Long-lived and well-structured wines which maintain the memory of the terroirs from which they are born and continue to communicate over time.
“The two hills, next two each other, are garnished at the summit with a ring of cypress trees, evoking something magical. I thought about a night sky full of stars, furrowed by the mysterious outlines of orbits, planispheres, something present. Then the stars superimposed one another where the lines met at crossroads, as if to signal the encounter, like a map of the stars”.
Intense, elegant with notes of black cherry, cocoa and coffee, very good structure, fresh, velvety with a long, silky finish
Food suggestion: agnolotti with a wild rabbit sauce, pasta with porcini, roasted veal and well-matured cheeses
